"Find something you love doing, and you will never work a day in your life!!"
Extreme Accuracy Institute
You can now learn extreme-accuracy rifle building and rifle accurizing from one of the top precision rifle builders in the world!
I have been doing extreme accuracy rifle building and gunsmithing since 1987, with an almost total emphasis on experimenting, testing, and finding the very best techniques to accurize rifles and build extremely accurate competition and hunting rifles.
Many years ago, I decided to start passing along what I've learned over all these years while I still have the time to do so, and now I dedicate as much time as possible helping others learn exactly how to build extremely accurate rifles! These classes will really shorten your learning curve as you learn exactly how to build extremely accurate custom rifles, and to accurize factory rifles!! All my classes are designed to be equally beneficial for do-it-yourselfers working on their own rifles in a home shop, and for professional gunsmiths who want to learn to build more accurate rifles for their customers.
You will learn not only the basics, but also a lot of very advanced techniques used to accurize and custom build high-accuracy rifles. Everyone will benefit from learning and gaining an understanding of all this! I also at times conduct an AR-15 Accurizing class, usually immediately following the one-week Precision Rifle Building class. People often like to take several or all of these classes in one trip to save money on travel expenses as well as to learn as much as possible about all aspects of accurizing and building custom rifles!
*Note that the main one-week Precision Rifle Building class is a combination of three separate 2-day sub-classes running back to back in the order that I build a rifle. At times I offer these 2-day sub-classes individually during the one-week class.
*I supply all the projects we work on in the regularly scheduled Precision Rifle Building and AR classes, but students can supply their own projects during one-on-one/private classes. We are unable to work on student's projects in these regular group classes, since we cover way too much information in too short a time-frame to be able to take time to work on several student's projects in the class, or to do much hands-on instruction. This helps to maximize the information covered in the limited time we have available. *The one-on-one/private classes are set up so students can do as much hands-on work in these classes as they want, as well as being able to work on their own rifle building projects if they want to.

One week "PRECISION RIFLE BUILDING" Class
- This main one week (six-day) class is a combination of all three gunsmithing sub-classes below running back-to-back.
- We do this in a highly detailed step-by-step process in the order a rifle is normally built - action first, barrel next, then all the rest of the accurizing techniques and procedures needed to complete the build. So by the end of the week you will have learned all the procedures normally used to build an extremely accurate custom rifle, plus a wealth of information on accurizing factory rifles.
- Note that due to the enormous amount of material we cover in such a short time-frame, this is not a hands-on class for the most part. I will supply all the projects we work on during the class since there is no time for students to work on their own projects like we can do in a private/one-on-one class.
- Students will receive a large amount of step-by-step written materials and several hundred captioned step-by-step photos to help you remember all the details as you put this training to use after the class. Another benefit for students who have taken my class is I am available any time for free consultation via emails or phone calls to help you with your projects when questions arise.
- *If you are not able to attend the entire week, you may want to just sign up for any one or two of the individual sub-classes that week if they are available . Just let me know what works for you.

AR-15 Accurizing Class
NOTE: I have partnered with Gavin Gear (he owns the Ultimate Reloader YouTube channel) in putting my AR-15 Accurizing class online as an online course. This will soon be available - we have the filming and editing finished, and are getting ready to go live with this. When this is ready for publication we will make an announcement. If you would like to be notified when this course becomes available, please send me an email saying to add you to my notification list. My email address is gordy@gordysprecision.com
AR-15 type rifles can be unbelievably accurate rifles if accurized effectively. I developed an extremely effective system of AR accurizing techniques back in the early-to mid-1990's that I've refined and used ever since to accurize AR-type rifles. I taught this accurizing system for several years at the NRA Summer Gunsmithing program in Oklahoma back in the late 1990's, as well as in-person classes in my Extreme Accuracy Institute school.
I developed this AR accurizing system back when I worked on and accurized a lot of AR's, but in recent years I have been so busy building extreme-accuracy bolt action rifles, that I never advertise or tell anyone about the AR's that I can do.
One of the rifles I accurized back in the mid-1990's was featured in the Varmint Hunter Magazine (issue #12). This rifle was sent out by Varmint Hunter for independent testing, and the shooter was able to get it to shoot 1/10 to 1/4 MOA groups (best group he shot during testing was .090" at 100 yards). I've built a number of other AR's over the years that shot 1/10 MOA to 1/4 MOA accuracy, so these rifles can really shoot accurately if everything is done right!
Accurizing AR's to this level does require some machining on the receivers and on the barrel, as well as extreme attention to detail like building or accurizing any high-accuracy rifle. This class will include evaluating the rifle and the barrel for accuracy issues, and will also include all the normal accurizing procedures that are used to make any rifle more accurate: hand-lapping barrels, barrel fit to the action, triggers, ignition, refitting the receivers so they close tightly with no play, bolt lug lapping, bedding scopes into rings for stress-free mounting, refitting the gas block and gas tube, recrowning the barrel, etc.
In the in-person classes, I will also cover how to chamber and install a custom unthreaded/unchambered barrel blank on an AR - this is actually very similar to fitting/chambering a barrel in a bolt action rifle, with a few basic differences. This includes selecting/ordering a barrel blank, fitting the barrel extension, chambering, crowning, drilling the gas hole, etc - although, note that I will not be fitting and chambering a barrel in this class, just explaining/demonstrating how to do this.
Call or email Gordy to sign up for any of these classes Upcoming scheduled dates for in-person classes at my shop: TBD (note that I will not be doing any AR classes at my shop until some time after the online course has been published)

PRIVATE INSTRUCTION / ONE-ON-ONE CLASSES
I am currently offering private and one-on-one individual instruction for any of the above classes on precision rifle building and rifle accurizing, or we can design a specialized training class on almost any custom and/or general gunsmithing techniques you want to learn how to do.
This instruction is available for anyone wanting to learn these skills - this includes individuals, both professional and hobbyists, as well as businesses, corporations, and police, government or military agencies wanting training for their gunsmiths and/or employees.
Call or email me to let me know what you want to learn and we can discuss the best way I can help you - then if you want to, we can schedule dates that will work for both of us. This private training can usually be scheduled almost any time year-round, and often dates are available with just a little advance notice.
Cost for private classes in 2025 (all available dates for 2024 are full): The cost for private classes is $995 per day for one person, or $1195 per day for two or more persons. These individual or specialized classes typically run from one to six days, but can be scheduled to run for however many days it takes to cover the training you need - whatever will be the most helpful to you for what you need! Note: There is a $200 non-refundable deposit required in advance to reserve dates for private classes held at my shop.
